About Shareable Boards

Shareable Boards are boards you can share with external users (guests), such as contractors, clients, freelancers, lawyers, graphic designers, etc. It lets you collaborate on specific projects with external users without giving them access to your full account, which helps you keep track of their progress and yours.  

How to create a Shareable Board

To create a Shareable board, click on the + icon located in your left-hand pane and select New Board.

Then you can choose whether your board should be main, shareable, or private. 

Why are they useful? 

Similar to Private Boards, Shareable Boards can only be seen and used by their subscribers, whether those are company members or guests. The idea behind shareable boards is that you can also share projects with external guests without granting them access to the full account.    

Your guests will only see the shareable boards you share with them, not any other boards. Below is an example of what a guest's account may look like:

Which plans include Shareable Boards? 

Shareable boards are available in the Standard plan. With this plan, you can invite up to three guests for free. The fourth guest will be counted as a billed user under your billing plan.

Requesting access to a Shareable Board

If you've stumbled upon a Shareable Board that you do not have access to, you'll find the following error message. In order to instantly request access to the Shareable Board, you can click on the blue "Request access" button as shown below:  

Clicking this button will send a notification to all board owners of this Shareable Board, letting them know you've requested access. By clicking the notification, the board owners will be directed to the subscribers page to grant you access to this Shareable Board if they choose to do so.  

Changing a board's type 

As the board owner, you can change your board from Shareable to Private or Main. Simply click the three-dot menu at the top right of your board, then select Board settings. From there, click Change board type, then choose the type of board you'd like to change to.
